I’m a designer and illustrator based in Vancouver, British Columbia. I received my diploma in Illustration and Applied Arts (IDEA Program) at Capilano University and I’ve worked in the industry since graduating in 2004. My experience as a designer is diverse, from branding, book design, exhibit design, web site design and everything that falls in-between. As an illustrator I have purposely tried to have a range in styles and I do both traditional and digital illustrations. I’m often wearing different hats, not only as the lead designer on all projects, I’m also art directing, managing projects and communicating with clients. I love the diversity, the challenge to problem solve and the opportunity to create visuals that communicate to an audience.
I was born in Guatemala but moved to North Vancouver at the age of 7. I started drawing and painting at an early age, and I was fortunate enough to attend a school where my skills were encouraged. I found my calling after high school when I found this thing called ‘graphic design’, I was even more ecstatic when I realized I could be both a designer and illustrator.
When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my kids and husband or working on a personal project. I’m a dreamer, so I’m experimenting and finding new challenges all the time.
