My name is Anasabina Dys and I am the principal and creative behind See Creative, a small design studio in British Columbia. When I started working in the design industry, I worked for a number of design studios, both small to mid-sized, each specializing in different fields within the industry. This diversity allowed me to gain experience in brand development, packaging, exhibit design, web site design, print design, as well as illustration. While I loved the work and the people at these studios, I knew early on in my career that I would open my own studio. I wanted to have direct contact with my clients, to build relationships with them, and to use my experience to help them reach their goals (without having someone else act as a middleman). So in early 2007 I opened See Creative.
Opening my own studio was somewhat daunting, but I took heart from the fact that I come from a long line of entrepreneurs and self-employed businessmen and women. The need to strike out on our own, to build something new almost seems to be part of our family DNA! The past 5 years have been an amazing experience, and definitely worth the challenges that come from having your own business. I started this blog so that I could share some of the “behind the scenes” of this experience and of our studio.
In the section called CREATIVE I want to share what it takes to be and stay creative. What inspires us, as well as some case studies for the work we have completed for our clients. I also wanted to share some of the things that I have learned, both professionally and personally, as an entrepreneur and so will be posting business tips in the section called BIZ NEWS. Lastly, because I strongly believe that to be successful in life, and that to have a well balanced professional and personal life, we need to always push ourselves and our boundaries I am also creating a section called MUSINGS. In it I’ll post articles, book reviews, or other interesting bits that I think are worth mentioning.
I hope that you’ll follow me in some, or all of these sections, and that you find them helpful, interesting, and inspiring. I look forward to reading your comments!
